Number: 60/16A
Description: Circa 1764(?), A piece of original art apparently done by a schoolchild. This drawing appears to have been made on an end paper from a textbook. It is dated 1764 and appears to record a terrifying Indian raid like one in Lancaster about the same date. The depiction of the natives is fascinating (I love the hair) and the house and barn suggest that the child was a farm boy. Girls generally didn't have school books. The page includes a copy of Psalm 70 below an "angel." It appears to be signed by the artist. The item measures about 6.25 by 4.25 inches. It is badly tattered, the way I got it. It is unique and VERY rare
Price: $750.

The paper is yellowing and ages. It is somewhat split along a fold and chipped at the bottom of another fold. The margin is water stained, but the image is good and the print can be cleaned.
